Description: Selene, who has taught with Anodea for over 20 years, covers a lot of ground in this workshop. Guiding the Journey is primarily about guiding hypnotherapeutic trance journeys, but also includes movement, group dynamics and creating sacred space as experienced each day in the Psychology of Chakras. You will gain the tools necessary to begin guiding your own trances, either with a private client or a group, and learn the ethics, principles, dangers, and techniques necessary to do so. A balance between inner and outer work will provide opportunities for participants to deepen their own process while learning to guide others.

This class is required for those in the teacher track but useful to all students.

Pre-requisite: the 7 or 9 day Psychology of the Chakras, or previous familiarity with trance and hypnosis.

Courses for Immersion

Sacred Centers Immersion weeks are annual retreats for diving deeper into the advanced curriculum. Designed primarily for students working towards Certification as teachers, healers and coaches, these retreats offer several specialized courses in one week, in which students can deepen their learning on a more personal level. Throughout the week students come together each morning for yoga taught by students in the teacher track, and in the evenings for community events, entertainment, and special presentations, as well as sharing each meal. Some classes happen simultaneously, as students enter smaller workshops designed for their special track. What is most special is that the Sacred Centers community of co-hearts flourishes throughout the week, for a memorable experience of love, light, and transformation.

Daily Schedule

8-9 am – Yoga
9-10 am – Breakfast
10-1 pm – Morning session

Food & Lodging

Pricing includes 3 gourmet vegetarian meals:

• Double Occupancy (Large room with private bath): $95 per day
• Single Occupancy: $155 per day
• Commute fee plus meals: $45 per day

We will calculate your costs according to the workshop(s) chosen and the number of nights lodging at your preference level. After you fill out the application form, we will send you a notice of acceptance and a rendering of your total cost. However you can estimate your costs based on the lodging prices below and the workshop fees listed next to each workshop. Meals are based on arrival and departure time at Elkins Estate.

Cancellation Policy

We schedule classes, purchase plane tickets, and reserve classroom space based on numbers of registered participants. Cancellations can be problematic, so please keep your commitment if at all possible and read our cancellation policy carefully. Thank you for understanding.

• Cancellation before August 10: full refund minus a $75 administration fee.
• Cancellation before September 10: 50% refund of total program cost.
• Cancellation after September 10: NO refund.

Selene Vega, Ph.D. LMFT, is a licensed psychotherapist (Marriage and Family Therapist). Since 1972 she has led individuals and groups on journeys into the realms of psyche and spirit, combining her extensive background in dance, yoga and other movement forms with her work in hypnotherapy and ritual to assist people in being fully awake and conscious on their path through life. Former editor of the Spiritual Emergence Network Newsletter, Selene’s writings include chapters in Walking in Two Worlds (Ed. Gilligan & Simon), The Psychospiritual Clinician’s Handbook (Ed. Khalsa & Mijares), and co-authoring The Sevenfold Journey (with Anodea Judith). Selene and Anodea have been teaching together since 1985. She is currently psychological consultant for an online fitness community in addition to workshop teaching and individual coaching.

More Program Details

For therapists, yoga (and other) teachers, workshop leaders, bodyworkers, coaches, and anyone who works with clients or students.

Awakening self-awareness and glimpsing new perspectives creates profound potential for transformation. Unblocking the unconscious conditioning that has limited us, we can move creatively into our full potential. For therapists and teachers, the art of setting a context in which this type of transformation can occur is essential.

This week, using the tools of trance, movement, ritual, and sacred space, you will learn to skillfully guide others in accessing non-ordinary states of consciousness in a contained and safe way. You will:

• Learn to work with group energy, balancing attention to individuals with the group experience
• Develop your skills at guiding group and individual movement journeys and rituals for healing, growth, and celebration
• Explore neglected parts of yourself as you deepen your ability to guide others into inner experience
• Deepen your understanding of the ethical considerations of leading experiential workshops
• Learn to assist others in creating a bridge between their experiences in a workshop or therapeutic setting and everyday life.

This training will strike a balance between inner work and interactive experience.
